Here is one parent’s experience: "I had a fantastic experience with my daughter at St. Andrew's Parents' Day Out program.  It was a great way to help socialize her while also giving me some much needed time to run errands. She loved the teachers and her classmates, and was always excited to show us the art projects she did each day. I highly recommend PDO if you are needing a few extra hours of a help each week!"

PARENTS' DAY OUT

Play time for children – time off for parents!

Registration is open for the 2024-2025 school year!

Parents’ Day Out (PDO) staff provide play time, crafts, story time, and snack time for children ages 2 to 4 (eligible in the month child turns 2 – no potty training required!) while giving parents free time for their own activities. PDO is open from 9 AM to 1 PM Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week. Fridays may be added if there is sufficient interest. Parents may enroll children for one or two days per week.

The program year runs mid-September to mid-May. PDO follows the Downers Grove Grade School District 58 school calendar for time off. When District 58 is closed, PDO will also not be in session.

Parents’ Day Out is a community service sponsored by St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Any member of the community is eligible to enroll.

Enrollment

A nonrefundable fee of $100 per child is required to enroll. The enrollment cost is $190 for two or more children from the same family. To register a child, the parent must obtain physical examination forms for the child. A printout of your child’s immunization record from your physician is sufficient.

Fees

A fee of $45 per day will be charged per child. If two children from the same family are enrolled in the program the fee will be $85 per day; three children will be $125 per day. Payment is due on a monthly basis on the first day attended each month. Payment is due for each day a child is enrolled, whether or not they are in attendance. Please click on Make a Payment box (above) or make checks payable to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, including PDO in the memo line.

Snack

A mid-morning snack will be served. Parents will sign up to bring fruit juice and snack items (cheese, pretzels, raisins, fruit slices, crackers, etc.) occasionally throughout the year. A sign-up sheet to bring snacks will be circulated periodically. Notification of allergies within the group will be given as necessary.

Lunch

Children will bring a sack/box lunch from home. We do not have a refrigerator or microwave available, so plan accordingly. Please limit lunch to what your child will reasonably eat and include something to drink.

Religious Instruction

Childcare workers at PDO do not carry out a specific religious curriculum. Children will be cared for in a Christian atmosphere. Grace may be said before snacks and meals and a member of the clergy may give a small presentation before certain religious holidays.

If you have questions, please contact the Parents’ Day Out Director Liz Foreman through St. Andrew’s at 630.968.9188 or email pdo@saintandrewschurch.net
