GROUPS & ORGANIZATIONS
Brotherhood of Saint Andrew: The Brotherhood is a men’s group focused on prayer, study, and service. The group meets most Saturday mornings for a prayer service, Bible study, and coffee. The Brotherhood is open to men interested in participating in the work of St. Andrew's, and serving and worshipping the Lord.
Daughters of the King: The Order of Daughters of the King is an international community of women committed to prayer, service, and evangelism. Here at St. Andrew’s, the St. Marie’s chapter maintains a confidential monthly prayer list that includes requests from parishioners, family, friends, and anyone we might encounter who needs prayer. We also sponsor gatherings to help the women of the parish grow and deepen their relationship with God, our Christian traditions, and our faith. New members are welcomed to the order after completing a group study and taking a vow to follow a Rule of Life that includes a commitment to prayer, service, evangelism, and the faithful wearing of the cross of the order.
Episcopal Church Women: ECW provides the women of St. Andrew’s with many opportunities for fun and fellowship throughout the year. All women of the parish are automatically members and are invited to attend every event. ECW organizes fellowship events such as salad suppers, game nights, and the annual Christmas Cookie Walk, and raises funds for parish needs such as stained glass window repair and kitchen supplies. We also support organizations such as Hope’s Front Door, People’s Resource Center and Cathedral Shelter. ECW's largest fundraising effort is the sale of scrip gift cards. These gift cards, representing a wide variety of retailers and services, are available to purchase in the Gathering Space each Sunday following the 10 a.m. service.
St. Lucia’s Guild: Members of St. Lucia’s Guild meet monthly, September through May, to share friendship and promote the group’s charitable projects and those of the ECW. All women of the parish are welcome to join. Among the Guild's activities are an Ash Wednesday brunch for parishioners, a “baby shower” for Stroger Hospital, and other charitable efforts. Special meetings include an annual Christmas luncheon and an end-of-year meeting and luncheon.
Women's Bible Study: This group meets weekly to study the Bible and enjoy group fellowship. The typical time commitment is 1½ hours weekly, plus preparation time.
