CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

Children's Sunday Mornings

Preschool through 8th Grade

Children are welcome to join our Sunday School program at any time. Please fill out the simple registration form here.

Sunday School classes begin at 9:45 a.m. ahead of the 10 a.m. Holy Eucharist. Exceptions include Family Services, holidays and summer break. You'll find the 2023-2024 Sunday School schedule here.

Students rotate between a lesson, craft activity and music. A group project or games follow. Children then join their families in church when the Peace is exchanged.

This year we're using the Seedlings Inc. curriculum. Our units of study include Our Church Family, Moses, Saints, The Early Life of Jesus, Jerusalem and Parables.

Youth Music
Children have several opportunities to praise God through music at St. Andrew’s. New singers are always welcome!

The Youth Choir is open to singers from kindergarten through middle school.  We gather in the Bride's Room on the second floor.  Our rehearsals begin after Communion and run until 11:30 a.m.  After receiving Communion, singers exit by the side door of the Sanctuary near the pulpit, and meet Mrs. Stansbury in the Gathering Space before continuing on to the Bride's Room.

All Sunday School students also get the opportunity to enjoy music as part of their lessons. Questions? Please contact our Youth Music Director Chris Stansbury at cpstansbury3@gmail.com or 630-985-0895.

Nursery

Our Youth Music Director Chris Stansbury visits the nursery most weeks throughout the school year for music time. Mrs. Stansbury makes music with the nursery children as part of a mini church school lesson. They play instruments, hear stories, wave scarves, and play musical movement games using skills and activities from the Musik Garten curriculum for churches called God’s Children Sing.

Vacation Bible School

St. Andrew's offers a week-long Vacation Bible School each summer for children in preschool through fourth grade. We also welcome volunteers to help during that time of learning, singing and fun. For more information, contact Hannah Andrews at hannah.sire@wheaton.edu.

Baptism

Holy Baptism is administered on designated Sundays during Holy Eucharist.

Holy Baptism is especially appropriate at the Easter Vigil service, on the Day of Pentecost, on All Saints’ Day or the following Sunday, on the Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord (the first Sunday after Epiphany) and during the Bishop’s visitation.

Godparents must be baptized Christians, and should be actively involved in a local church community.

Please call the Parish Office to arrange for your child's baptism and to schedule pre-baptismal instruction.
